Descriptions
This easy flan pâtissier recipe is a classic French dessert with a smooth, custard-like filling and a golden-baked crust. Perfect for a quick and indulgent treat, the recipe requires only a few ingredients and is simple to make.
The rich vanilla flavor complements the light texture, making it a crowd-pleaser for any occasion.
Directions
1- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
2- Roll out the pie crust and press it into a round tart pan. Set aside.
3- In a large saucepan, bring the milk, half of the sugar, and the vanilla pod (split and scraped) to a boil.
4- In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs with the remaining sugar until the mixture becomes pale.
5- Gradually add the cornstarch to the egg mixture, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
6- When the milk reaches a boil, slowly pour it over the egg mixture while whisking continuously.
7- Return the entire mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, for about 3 minutes, until thickened.
8- Pour the thickened custard onto the pie crust and smooth it out evenly.
9- Bake for 40 minutes or until the top is golden and set.
10- Let the flan cool completely before unmolding. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
Note's
- For an extra layer of flavor, serve your flan with fresh seasonal fruits or a scoop of ice cream.
- Ensure the custard thickens slightly before baking to avoid a runny texture.
- If you don’t have a vanilla pod, use vanilla extract for convenience.
